Oakland B&O Museum Location
Oakland is located in the western panhandle of Maryland in beautiful Garrett County. It is only about 10-20 minutes from West Virginia (in three directions!), 30 minutes from Pennsylvania, and 10 minutes from Deep Creek Lake. It is only 2 hours from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and 3-4 hours from Baltimore and Washington, D.C. Garrett County is located just off Interstate 68, sits on the Eastern Continental Divide, and houses the Highest Point in Maryland.
